It’s been three years since the Philippines’ landmark victory over China in the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague. Much of the discussion has been focused on the territorial dispute. But perhaps even more alarming is the extent of damage on the marine environment in the area caused mainly by Beijing’s island-building and the illegal clam harvesting by its fishermen.
